Facing the Water-Energy Nexus Challenge using Smart ICT Solutions

 

The article “Improvement of the Water-Energy Nexus and the Environmental Performance of Water Supply Systems Using Smart ICT Solutions“, written by engineers and specialists from WatEner and Stadtwerke Karlsruhe, has been published in the December 2016 edition of the research journal Current World Environment. The document shows the importance of ICT solutions, such as WatEner, as a tool to respond to the current challenges which Water Utilities face and presents the good results obtained by SWKA in the city of Karlsruhe, a water rich area in Northwest – Europe, where the main objective was to save energy in the drinking water Distribution networks.

Current World Environment is an international, open access, peer-reviewed research journal of environmental science published tri-annually with the sole aim of rapid dissemination of scientific knowledge among scientists, technocrats, planners and elite citizens for a better life supporting system and promoting the cause of the environment and sustainable response to climate change.
